How It Works

A PRN contractor is hired directly by the client (clinic/hospital) and the client pays the contractor directly for services rendered (not a staffing agency). This differs from the way traditional staffing agencies work in that the client hires and pays the contractor directly for services rendered. Maverick Staffing collects a fee for providing the tools for the client (clinic/hospital) and the PRN contractor to effectively do business with one another.

For the clinic/hospital we provide a free, private and secure means to find and hire the best qualified PRN contractor. We provide the client with simple means to send out a shift requests to qualified contractors. The client can then pick which contractor to hire from the contractors who have replied to their shift request.

The client can review a contractors profile information, which includes certifications, resume, vaccination records, and licenses before hiring. The client can also build their own "favorites" list of contractors whom they have previously done business with. So subsequent shift requests can be made directly to a favorites list and/or to the Maverick Staffing contractors community.

Hiring - The Maverick Staffing Way

  • 1. Clinic: "I Need a Scrub Tech next Thursday"
  • 2. The Clinic uses the MS site to choose the most suitable Scrub Tech to hire
  • 3. Next Thursday, that Scrub Tech (the one you chose) shows up for work
  • Note: Maverick DOES NOT charge any fees for direct hires.

As a PRN Worker, Finding Work

Traditional - Through Staffing Agency

  • 1. Call staffing agency. You send them your licenses, resume, vaccination records, etc...
  • 2. The Staffing agency sets your rate
  • 3. Staffing agency makes you sign a non-complete agreement
  • 4. The Staffing agency calls when you are needed

The Maverick Staffing Way

  • 1. Create an account on Maverick. Upload your licenses, resume, vaccination records, etc...
  • 2. You set your rates for weekday, weekend, night and stat work
  • 3. Clinics send you shift offers. You reply to the shifts that suit you
  • 4. You get work. At your rate.
  • Note: Maverick does not have non-compete agreements

As a PRN Worker - Getting Paid

Traditional - Through Staffing Agency

  • 1. Work shifts as an agency employee (W-2)
  • 2. No rate increases for stat or evening work
  • 3. Get paid bi-monthly

The Maverick Staffing Way

  • 1. Work shifts as contractor (1099)
  • 2. YOU get to work at increased rates for stat or evening work
  • 3. As a contractor, you get to deduct your expenses before tax
